Dental Implants

After the introduction of dental implants in 1970’s, the number of patients who received dental implant therapy have increased exponentially over the course of years. Today, hundreds of thousands of implants are placed daily to the patients worldwide to replace the missing teeth. Dental implants are basically titanium screws that are designed to integrate to the jaw bones. The osseointegration period takes about 2 months after which the prosthetic rehabilitation starts. Dental implants offer a reliable, aesthetic, and permanent solution and they don’t damage the adjacent teeth.

Placement of a dental implant is performed under local anesthesia. Depending on the type and condition of the patient’s jawbone, the procedure for dental implant surgery varies.
